Intentional Spiritual Growth

On the first Wednesday of the month, I meet with the full Ministry Council (every pastor, director and coordinator).  At those meetings, we pray for each other, talk about our plans for upcoming month as well as what we did the past month.  I also take the time to do a little training.

Last Wednesday, our Equipping Director, Kim Lewis, took through a Self-Rating scale designed as a barometer on our spiritual development.  Kim had listed some important categories: Caring for Yourself, Depending on Christ, Praying about Everything, Modeling Servanthood for Others, Planning an Audacious Vision, the Need for Change.  Each person rated themselves on the scale and shared an action step they were going to take on their lowest scaled item.

It's all about intentional spiritual growth.  Here we are, the Ministry Staff of the church, and we need to monitor how we're doing.  It's easy to slack on our spiritual development if we don't guard it.  We step on a scale to guard our weight.  We need to step on a scale to guard our souls.

I would encourage you to stop.  Reflect on where you are with Christ and then take one simple step of spiritual growth.

My wife, Kathryn and I have enjoyed the experience of worship at FCCH every time we attend. we are speechless to really express the way we carry the experince into the rest of our week. Also we agree with you that the young girl who plays the violin reminds us that the platform is holy ground. We find it easy to see Jesus in every service. Thank you Pastor Mike for your deication to serving Christ.
