OTC Devotion: Fast Track Week 4, Day 1

God's grace weaves a beautiful thread through the readings for Day 1:
  • Abraham sends his servant out to find a wife for Isaac and the servant "just so happens" to stumble into a relative of Abraham. It's a perfect fit (just read the specific request the servant makes to God in Genesis 24).
  • Rebekah is childless so Isaac prays for her. She becomes pregnant with twins - double the blessing.
  • Jacob, the Deceiver, tries to take matter into his own hands to force the blessing promised by God and ends up dividing the whole family. Still God meets Jacob in a dream, reaffirming the covenant he made with Jacob's grandfather, Abraham.
God is the real hero in the story. He keeps His promises, fulfills His plans, cleans up our messes. I'm humbled by the amount of blessing He pours out into my life. I make messes and still He gives me blesssing. All that I lost as a teenager has been given back to me a hundred fold. He keeps an eye out for the father-less. He's incredible.
