OTC Devotion: Fast Track Week 5, Day 3

Psalm 136 is famous mostly because of the worship song that uses it's refrain: "His love endures forever." The evidence of God's love is intriguing. The Psalmist begins with the work of creation, moves through the exodus from Egypt, continues to the provision in the wilderness and ends with deliverance. God's love is first demonstrated through His motivation for creation and then through the liberation of a people oppressed. It's climax is in Christ on the cross.

We can so easily forget the powerful demonstration of love in creation and the cross. We live the routine of commuting, the mundane of the summer jobs, the monotony of life's busyness. Slowly the love of God fades into time schedules, mundane television programs and the worry of paying bills.

We can miss His love in the warmth of sunshine, the fellowship of believers, represented the cross in the worship center. It always there, around us all the time. Sometimes we just need to stop in the silent moments (yes they do come during the course of the day). Take a deep breath and think about the cross, creation, God's love. Breath it in. Relish it. Remember it. Thank God for it.

Praise God in all that we do! Jesus is with us in all ways and always. I have been exploring new paths to faith and would like to share a wonderful Christian songwriter/singer/musician with you. His faith flows through him and enters your heart. I witnessed this at the Grace Baptist Church. His myspace website is www.myspace.com/toddmacdonald. I believe everyone in our congregation would benefit from his uplifting music. Lately God's pure connection has not come through to me at FCCH. I pray for you, your family, all true believers in Jesus Christ and all that will no him.
